• 旧市街中心部の効率性と利便性

  ビジネスプロジェクトの打ち合わせのため、広州市越秀区への出張に際し、海珠広場周辺の複数のビジネスホテルを比較検討しました。最終的にGuangzhou Hotel - Haizhu square metro station & close to Beijing roadを選び、打ち合わせと業界セミナーのために4日間滞在しました。滞在全体を通してスムーズでストレスフリーな旅となり、ビジネス旅行に必要なあらゆるニーズを完璧に満たしてくれました。
  ホテルは海珠広場地下鉄駅B出口からわずか数十メートル。プロジェクトのパンフレットが詰まったスーツケースを引きずりながらでも、迷うことなくホテルにたどり着けました。到着すると、フロントスタッフがビジネス優先レーンへ案内してくれ、チェックインは3分足らずで完了しました。翌朝早く珠江新城のオフィスビルで打ち合わせがあることを知ると、スタッフはエレベーターから離れた高層階の静かな部屋を用意してくれました。ラッシュアワーの渋滞を避けるルートを示すメモまで用意されていて、近くのアイスアメリカーノのお店も分かりやすくマークされていたので、混雑する北京路エリアを避けることができ、計画に時間をかける手間が省けました。
  客室はビジネス旅行者向けに完璧に設計されていました。明るく開放的な空間には、ビジネスプロジェクトの提案書や契約書をすべて同時に広げられるほど広々としたデスクを備えた専用のワークスペースがありました。デスクの周りには複数の急速充電ポートが設置されていたので、電源タップを探すことなく、ノートパソコン、製図板、モバイルバッテリーを同時に充電できました。室内照明はゾーン分けされており、作業中は明るく眩しくないクールホワイトの光、就寝前には柔らかく温かみのあるナイトライトに切り替わるので、長時間提案書を編集した後でも目の疲れを感じずに済みました。マットレスは適度なサポート力があり、業界レポートを夜遅くまで作業しても腰痛に悩まされることはありませんでした。部屋の防音性も抜群でした。賑やかな海珠広場の商業地区がすぐ下の階にあるにもかかわらず、ドアを閉めると外の騒音は全く聞こえず、早朝まで仕事をした後でもぐっすり眠ることができました。
  ホテルの設備は、私の出張に必要なあらゆるニーズを満たしてくれました。24時間営業のビジネスセンターは、ファックスや製本など、あらゆるサービスをすぐに利用できました。会議用の英語のプロジェクトマニュアルを数十部印刷する必要があった際も、スタッフは10分足らずで対応してくれました。ホテルには、様々な規模の設備が整った会議室が豊富に用意されています。私はここでパートナーとの小規模なミーティングを手配し、外部の会場を探す手間を省くことができました。プロジェクターと音響システムは終始安定していました。休憩時間には、スタッフが挽きたてのコーヒーと広東風エビ餃子を用意してくれており、スムーズでプロフェッショナルなミーティングを実現してくれました。
  何よりも驚いたのは、その立地の良さです。北京路貿易パークまで徒歩10分、産業展示会が開催される琶洲展覧センターまでは地下鉄でわずか数駅。通勤時間や渋滞に巻き込まれる心配は一切ありません。仕事で忙しい一日を終えた後、夕方に珠江沿いを5分ほど散歩し、川風を感じながら川岸を照らす灯りを眺めていると、プロジェクト会議で疲れた気持ちがたちまち和らぎます。ホテルの朝食レストランでは、作りたての広東風お粥や蒸し餃子など、豊富なメニューが揃っています。朝、出かける前に温かい朝食を摂れば、午前中のプロジェクト業務に必要なエネルギーを十分に補給できます。

• 北京ロードトリップで、広州の活気に満ちた、それでいて気取らない雰囲気を捉えることができました

  今回は、広州の旧市街を散策するにあたり、Guangzhou Hotel - Haizhu square metro station & close to Beijing roadに宿泊することにしました。当初は、地下鉄2路線が交差する便利な立地という理由だけで選んだのですが、3日間滞在したことが、今回の広州旅行で最も満足のいく、そして嬉しいサプライズとなりました。
  ホテルは海珠広場駅から徒歩すぐ。お土産でいっぱいのスーツケースを引きずりながらでも、遠回りすることなくスムーズに移動できました。ホテルに入るとすぐに、歴史あるホテルの風格に包まれました。フロントにいた地元の広州出身のおばさんが笑顔で迎えてくれました。北京ロードを散策し、美味しいものを食べるのが初めてだと伝えると、すぐにチェックイン手続きをしてくれただけでなく、特別に高層階の川が見える部屋を用意してくれたのです。彼女は手書きの地元の飲食店地図も手渡してくれた。路地裏にひっそりと佇む何十年も続くワンタン麺屋や、行列のできない老舗デザート店まで、隅々まで丁寧に記されていて、人気店で長蛇の列に並ぶ手間が省けた。
  ドアを開けた瞬間、ここを選んで正解だったと確信した。明るく開放的な空間は、都会のホテルにありがちな窮屈さを全く感じさせなかった。窓際の大きなデスクは、広州の旅行ガイドを広げるのに最適で、デスクトップには複数の急速充電ポートが備わっていたので、電源タップを探すことなく、スマホ、カメラ、モバイルバッテリーを同時に充電できた。一番驚いたのは、珠江の支流に面した床から天井までの大きな窓だった。夕暮れ時、カーテンを開けると、夕日が川面を温かい金色に染め、遠くに見える海珠橋の明かりがキラキラと輝いていた。半開きの窓からは、古き良き広州の湿った香りを運ぶそよ風が吹き込んできた。ベッドの硬さもちょうど良かった。私のように一日中観光して疲れ果てた人でも、すぐに眠りに落ちてしまうでしょう。

  何よりも心温まるのは、この老舗ホテルの細部に宿る昔ながらの温かさです。24時間対応のロビーでは、いつでも温かいハーブティーを無料で提供しています。汗だくになるショッピングの後、一杯のお茶はたちまち心を癒してくれます。以前、古い路地を散策していた時、うっかり観光地の予約コードが入った携帯電話を外に置き忘れてしまいました。ふと思い立ってフロントに電話したところ、スタッフは近くのお店に連絡を取ってくれただけでなく、翌日の予定に間に合わないかもしれないと心配して、予約確認書のコピーまで印刷してくれました。テーブルに並べられた広州のお土産リストを見たハウスキーピングの女性は、どのチキンビスケットが一番本格的かと私に話しかけ、地元で人気の老舗店を教えてくれました。
